 Casco Township Clerk’s Statutory Duties

  •  Maintains custody of all township’s records
  • Maintains general ledger

  • Prepares warrants for township checks

  • Records and maintains township meeting minutes

  • Keeps the township book of oaths

  • Responsible for special meeting notices

  • Publishes board meeting minutes

  • Keeps voter registration file and conducts elections

  • Keeps township ordinance book

  • Prepares financial statements

  • Delivers tax certificates to Supervisor & County Clerk by Sept. 30

  • Must appoint a deputy

  • Must post a surety bond

The Department of State has published a new early in-person voting webpage that provides answers to many frequently asked questions regarding early voting and early voting sites. The page is designed to inform clerks, partners, stakeholders, and the general public. It will be updated on an ongoing basis to answer additional questions. Clerks should feel free to provide links to this page on their website, share it through social media, or provide it any other way to their voters. 

MONDAY, February 12, 2024 is the Deadline to register by mail or online and be eligible to vote in the February election. After Monday you will have to register in person at the Clerk’s Office.

Polling Hours:

Election Day is Tuesday, February 27, 2024. The Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm.

Early Voting Center:

Early Voting Center begins on Saturday February 17th – Sunday February 25th. The EV Center is located at the Township hall: 4512 Meldrum Rd., Casco, MI 48064, and will be open everyday during this time from 8am – 4pm.

Voting Changes:

The voters of Michigan overwhelmingly passed Prop 2 in November 2022. Its passage enhances the security of our elections and protects the right of every eligible Michigander to vote. The provisions of Prop 2 have been added to Michigan’s Constitution and are now in effect.
